Cool Videos: Kung Fury has been released and it’s full of 80’s insanity

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

Over the past few years we've followed the production of KUNG FURY, an over-the-top 80's action/comedy that's equal parts brilliance and insanity. The project was successfully funded through Kickstarter and premiered last Friday at Cannes, but KUNG FURY has now been officially released online for everyone to enjoy.

So stop whatever you're doing and sit down for thirty minutes of talking dinosaurs, Nazis, mini-gun wielding vikings, and more 80's nostalgia than you can throw a Rubik's Cube at; just don't forget to adjust your tracking.

KUNG FURY has long been a passion project for Swedish filmmaker David Sanberg, who wrote, directed, and starred in the film, and if you think this is the end of the KUNG FURY saga, you'd be wrong; a feature version may be on the way. Sanberg met up with David Katzenberg and Seth Grahame-Smith, who shared his love of all things 80's, and they put him in touch with Tyler Burton Smith, an American video game writer based in Finland. Sandberg and Smith worked together to flesh out a longer version of the script which allowed for bigger action and some actual character development.

If you're in the mood for more KUNG FURY, more sure to check out the equally bizarre KUNG FURY music video which stars none other than David Hasselhoff.
