Cool Videos: Tom Hanks' audition tape for Forrest Gump

A few of you may have already seen this, but I figured I’d still show you Tom Hanks‘ audition tape for FORREST GUMP since this year is the 20th anniversary of the Robert Zemeckis movie. It also features Robin Wright Penn reading for Jenny, the two kids who played the younger versions of Forrest and Jenny, and Haley Joel Osment as Forrest Jr. It’s interesting to watch, but like most audition tapes, it is also a little awkward.

What I’d really like to see though? Gary Sinise‘s audition tape for FORREST GUMP. I’ve always thought Sinise’s scenes were some of the best parts of FORREST GUMP, and would love to check out him reading for the part of Lieutenant Dan.
