Having impressed a lot of horror fans with IT FOLLOWS, director David Robert Mitchell has now entered production on his follow-up film, UNDER THE SILVER LAKE. Mitchell is stepping back out of the horror genre for this one, which is described as a modern-day noir crime thriller.

It may not be horror, but the plot synopsis does present the possibility that the film could still get very dark. The story

centers on a man who becomes obsessed with the strange circumstances of a billionaire mogul's murder and the kidnapping of a girl.

We'll have to wait and see just how dark and twisted it will get, but one thing that is already clear is that Mitchell has assembled a strong cast to bring the story to life.

UNDER THE SILVER LAKE is set to star Andrew Garfield, Riley Keough (pictured above), Topher Grace, Callie Hernandez (below), Riki Lindome, Don McManus, Zosia Mamet, Jimmi Simpson, Patrick Fischler, and Luke Baines.

Funding for the film was secured through VX119 Media Capital, Stay Gold Features, and Vendian Entertainment. Chris Bender, Jake Weiner, Adele Romanski, and Michael De Luca are producing the movie, which will be released in the United States by A24.
