DC Universe has canceled their comic news series DC Daily

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

DC Universe subscribers might be disappointed to hear that the exclusive streaming service's news feature, DC Daily, has been canceled. Launched in September of 2018, DC Daily provided fans with news, interviews and in-depth panel discussions about DC movies and TV shows. Word of the show's cancellation hails from Collider, who exclusively broke the news on Tuesday afternoon.

While several of the shows hosts were reluctant to comment on the show's demise, a DC spokesperson did provide Collider with a statement on behalf of DC Universe:

“After more than 400 episodes, DC Daily will air its final broadcast on Friday, July 3. This year has brought more challenges than the show could overcome. We thank all the fans and talent and hosts for bringing this show to life. It’s been a fun ride.”

In looking for a reason as to why the show was canceled, Collider suspects that production challenges presented by the coronavirus pandemic are to blame. As sad as it is to hear that the show is going the way of the dodo, it's comforting to know that DC Daily will continue to offer new episodes until its final broadcast on July 3. If you're a fan of the show, you should know that a new episode is set to make its debut later today at 6 p.m. ET.

Pour one out DC Daily, my friends. While I've never experienced the show myself, I have several friends who say that they've always looked forward to having new episodes of the comics-centric news show. Thankfully, plenty of reliable sources for comic book news still exist, thought they might not be as focused on DC-related matters as DC Daily once was. Either way, so long DC Daily, and thanks for all the fish.
