Dial M for Murder to be turned into a female-centered limited series

Dial M for Murder, Alicia Vikander, series

So this sounds intriguing! Deadline reports that Alicia Vikander (TOMB RAIDER remake) is executive producing – with an eye to potentially star – in a series that reimagines Alfred Hitchcock's classic DIAL M FOR MURDER from the female perspective. It is speculated Vikander would take over the role that was originally played by Grace Kelly.

Furthermore, DIAL M FOR MURDER is being developed as "an anthology series with potential follow-up installments in the suspense thriller genre from a similarly female point of view." Personally, this sounds like it could be good, if given the right execution. But I guess only time will tell!

Anyway, here's the synopsis of the original film:

The original Dial M For Murder centers on a retired tennis champion (played in the movie by Ray Milland, who discovers that his wife (Kelly) has had an affair and hires an acquaintance to murder her. When the plan backfires and the wife kills her assassin, her husband frames her for the man’s murder, with his elaborate plot only uncovered with the help of his wife’s lover hours before she was to be executed after being sentenced to death.

Meanwhile, no official start or release date as of yet, but we'll keep you updated!

So what do you guys think? Either way, sound off below!
