Elisabeth Moss and Emmy-nominated THE HANDMAID'S TALE director Diana Reid are reteaming for RUN RABBIT RUN, an upcoming film that dabbles in the realm of reincarnation. Moss will lead the film as a fertility doctor who believes firmly in life and death, but after noticing the strange behavior of her young daughter, must challenge her own values and confront a ghost from her part. Reid will direct from a script being written by novelist Hannah Kent, who wrote the screenplay based on an original idea she developed with Carver Films. Anna McLeish and Sarah Shaw of Carver Films will produce with XYZ Films executive producing.

Moss' Hollywood dance card has been quite full since the actress made a splash as Peggy Olson for AMC's MAD MEN. After appearing in a number of film projects, Moss landed the role of Robin Griffin for TOP OF THE LAKE, a TV series that found the actress playing a detective obsessed with solving the disappearance of a 12-year-old pregnant girl near a freezing lake in New Zealand. She then went on to star in films like HER SMELL (Buy Here) for director Alex Ross Perry, THE KITCHEN (Buy Here), Jordan Peele's US (Buy Here), Josephine Decker's biographical thriller SHIRLEY, and of course, Leigh Whannell's THE INVISIBLE MAN (Buy Here), in which Moss battles a new spin of the classic Universal monster.

Moss also continues to star as June Osborne for Reid's THE HANDMAID'S TALE, which was supposed to launch its fourth season in Autumn 2020, though production had stalled due to the coronavirus pandemic. In June 2020, Moss spoke with Extra about the show's eventual return, saying that they had only scratched the surface when filming was abruptly halted.

“We were only two weeks in, so we actually have an entire season to shoot. We want to go back to work because families have people to support and rent they need to pay, but at the same time no human’s life is worth a TV show. We’re just trying to figure out how to do it safely for everybody,” Moss explained to Extra.

Few details are known for RUN RABBIT RUN at this time, though when you consider Reid and Moss' track record for unleashing quality on audiences, I suspect that we'll be hearing plenty about this new project once it's officially off to the races.
