Eureka (Syfy TV Series) – Gone But Not Forgotten

Welcome back to another edition of Gone But Not Forgotten! In this episode, we’re looking at the cult Sci-Fi Channel (or as it’s known now Syfy) tv series, Eureka (aka A Town Called Eureka).

This show starred Colin Ferguson as a U.S. Marshall who reluctantly winds up as the sheriff of Eureka, with his teenage daughter Zoe (Jordan Hinson), in tow. However, Eureka is no ordinary town in that it’s populated exclusively by scientific geniuses. The top-secret town is operated by a U.S Government shell company called Global Dynamics (GD), and throughout five well-loved seasons, all kinds of insanity took place. Created by Andrew Cosby & Jaime Paglia and co-starring Joe Morton, Salli Richardson-Whitfield, Jordan Hinson, Ed Quinn, and more, the series was part of Syfy’s attempt to create a shared universe. Eureka led to Warehouse 13, and the two shows often crossed over.

In its time, Eureka was extremely popular, being Syfy’s most-watched show launch in years and one of the top-rated cable shows of the day. It was well-regarded enough that it ran for five seasons and seventy-seven episodes. While unfairly obscure nine years after it aired its last episode, Eureka still has a devoted cult following, and it’s a great show to dig into for the uninitiated. So join us as we investigate a town called Eureka!
