Evan Rachel Wood is a conflicted con artist in the trailer for Kajillionaire

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

Evan Rachel Wood is going from the precarious prairies of WESTWORLD to a life of calculated crime in the new trailer for KAJILLIONAIRE. In the upcoming crime-drama, Wood stars as Old Dolio, the daughter of con-artists Theresa (Debra Winger) and Robert (Richard Jenkins) whose unique approach to parenting has taken their only child on a 26-year journey of scams, swindles, and other acts of thievery. It's only when Theresa and Robert decide to invite an outsider (Gina Rodriguez) to join them that Old Dolio starts to question her lot in life and make moves to distance herself from the family business.

The film is directed and written by Miranda July, whose ME AND YOU AND EVERYONE WE KNOW was a multiple prize-winner at Cannes in 2005. KAJILLIONAIRE is also July's first feature film 2011's THE FUTURE, which told the story of a couple who after adopting a stray cat, find their perspective on life changes radically, literally altering the course of time and space and testing their faith in each other and themselves.

I'm not gonna lie, folks. This trailer for KAJILLIONAIRE hit me right in the feels and I am definitely going to check this movie out sometime down the line. For those of you who want to catch the film in theaters, KAJILLIONAIRE will release in theaters on September 18.
