Ex. John C. Reilly, Steve Coogan and more talk Stan & Ollie!

Laurel and Hardy are two of the most iconic comic actors in Hollywood history. The two made countless movies together, and they have become one of the most important influences in comedy. In the new feature STAN & OLLIE, we get an up close and personal look at the two when their movie making career was winding down. The film stars Steve Coogan as Stan Laurel and John C. Reilly as Oliver Hardy, and the two actors could not have been better cast. Directed by Jon S. Baird, this sweet feature shows just how deep the friendship between them became. It is a touching feature and the two actors are absolutely perfect together.

Speaking to John C. Reilly is always a pleasure. And sitting across from both Reilly and Mr. Steve Coogan to talk Laurel and Hardy was insprired and really a terrific experience. The two shared what they have learned about the comedy legends. This led to talk about capturing the look of Mr. Hardy – and what an incredible job the make-up department did. The two also opened up about the tenderness they discovered playing these two best friends. We also spoke to Jon S. Baird, along with the wonderful Shirley Henderson who plays Oliver’s wife Lucille. The two discussed how the wives became such a big part of the story, and the changes that the script went through. As well, Jon went on to talk about the love story of Stan and Ollie and how it was important to connect to that. After all, what STAN & OLLIE really is, is a love story between two dear friends who happened to make great comedy.

If you’d like a great lesson on a funny and tender friendship, check out STAN & OLLIE playing in select theatres starting December 28th.
