I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, YOU’RE NEXT is really, really f#*king scary. The new film written by Simon Barrett and directed by Adam Wingard is exactly what horror fans needed. Sure it has a ton of humor, but it is in just the right way without denying that this is a horror film with a ton of really cool scare sequences. And two of the actors that help keep things moving include the great AJ Bowen and the stunning Sharni Vinson.
When I recently sat down with both Vinson and Bowen, we talked about how refreshing it is to see somebody actually kick some ass in a horror film when they should. Without giving too much away, let’s just say that the masked maniacs in this new flick have a very formidable foe in the case of Ms. Vinson. The actress also mentioned that her character needed to STEP UP which had both me and Bowen smiling thanks to her work in the dance flick STEP UP 3D.
It is a great movie weekend folks, especially for horror fans. YOU’RE NEXT opens this Friday at a theatre near you!
