The FEAST 2: SLOPPY SECONDS cast is one of the more baffling in recent memory. (Warning: Don’t read if you haven’t seen, or don’t care about, the first FEAST.) Bloody Disgusting is reporting that Judah “Beer Guy” Friedlander is in the second entry of the proposed trilogy. He joins Balthazar Getty, Krista Allen, Josh Zuckerman, Jenny Wade, Clu Gulager, Diane Goldner and Navi Rawat. Yes, it appears that it’s the same exact cast as the first one – and yet only the first four of them survived the initial ordeal. So are they somehow reprising their roles? Featured in flashbacks? Or is it a RETURN OF THE LIVING DEAD II situation, where the filmmakers simply cast the same people as if it didn’t even f*ckin matter to them?
The synopsis for the film doesn’t hint at an answer: The monsters have made it into a small neighboring town in the middle of nowhere and the locals have to band with the survivors of the bar’ slaughter to figure out how to survive.
Also returning to the scene of the icky crime are director John Gulager and scribes Marcus Dunstan and Patrick Melton. It’s supposed to be released at some point next year, with a third film, THE HAPPY FINISH slated to get started soon after. (I’ll go on the record as officially loving these titles.)
