The Final Purge hits July 2020

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

Last year we were hit with not only a TV series based on Blumhouse's THE PURGE, but also a new theatrical film called THE FIRST PURGE. And today we have word that Universal Pictures, Blumhouse Productions, and Platinum Dunes have set the Untitled Next Purge Chapter for July 10, 2020.

James DeMonaco, who has written all four movies and directed the first three films, that he has an idea for the next entry, which will also be the last. DeMonaco says:

I have it in my head. I think I’m going to write it. I think it’s a great way to end it all. We want to end it all, I think, in this one, and I’m very excited. When I came up with the idea and pitched it to everybody, they seemed psyched, and I think it will be a really cool ending, how we take this one home.

Do you think that it's about time for the powers that be over at Blumhouse and DeMonaco to bring THE PURGE series to end? I think it might be the right time to throw in the towel myself. Quit while you're (slightly) ahead you know. How about you? Would you keep watching PURGE movies till the end of time? Let us know below!

The previous entry was THE FIRST PURGE which followed the rundown:

To push the crime rate below one percent for the rest of the year, the New Founding Fathers of America test a sociological theory that vents aggression for one night in one isolated community. But when the violence of oppressors meets the rage of the others, the contagion will explode from the trial-city borders and spread across the nation.

THE FIRST PURGE was directed by Gerard McMurray from a screenplay written by James DeMonaco. Jason Blum, Michael Bay, Andrew Form, Brad Fuller, and Sébastien K. Lemercier produced and the film starred Y'lan Noel, Lex Scott Davis, Joivan Wade, and Steve Harris.
