Fiona Dourif joins The Purge TV series

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

Fiona Dourif is quickly becoming one of our beloved genre's favorite scream queens. Yeah, she's basically only been in Don Mancini's last two Chucky movies, CURSE OF CHUCKY and CULT OF CHUCKY, but those were solid movies – and add in the fact that she is the spawn of Chucky himself, Mr. Brad Dourif – and Fiona is basically horror royalty at this point. So it should excite all of you guys as much as it excites me to know that the younger Dourif has just signed onto Blumhouse's upcoming TV series based on THE PURGE

Her role will be a recurring part with Dourif playing:

The cool and offbeat, Good Leader Tavis, the much-adored, charismatic cult leader, dispensing blessings to her fawning followers.

Good Leader Travis? Oh, wait, there's no 'R'. It's Good Leader Tavis. Damn. Oh, well. That's STILL the most badass name THE PURGE series has ever produced. By far. The fact that this new series is introducing a Purge Cult is a good start to winning over MY viewership… but I can't help but wonder if poor Fiona is getting a bit sick of being parts of cults. Purge cults, Chucky cults. It's neverending with this girl!

Dourif joins a cast that includes series regulars Gabriel Chavarria, Lili Simmons, Jessica Garza, Amanda Warren, Colin Woodell, Hannah Anderson, Lee Tergesen, and William Baldwin. Franchise creator James DeMonaco is executive producing the series with Blumhouse, Platinum Dunes, Sebastien K. Lemercier, and showrunner Thomas Kelly with Anthony Hemingway directing the pilot episode.

As we await a release date for the TV series, we can always count the days until THE FIRST PURGE begins July 4th. See you there!
