While we wait for Squirrel Girl to make her live-action debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Disney has another squirrel superhero lined up in Ulysses, who just so happens to be an actual squirrel; well, CG squirrel, but who's keeping track? The studio has released the first trailer for Flora and Ulysses, a family film based on the Newbery Award-winning book by Kate DiCamillo which follows a young girl who rescues a squirrel who just might happen to possess superpowers.
Flora and Ulysses stars Matilda Lawler as Flora, "an avid comic book fan and a self-avowed cynic, whose parents have recently separated. After rescuing a squirrel she names Ulysses, Flora is amazed to discover he possesses unique superhero powers, which take them on an adventure of humorous complications that ultimately change Flora's life–and her outlook–forever." The film also stars Alyson Hannigan, Ben Schwartz, Anna Deavere Smith, Danny Pudi, Benjamin Evans Ainsworth, Janeane Garofolo, and Kate McCucci.
Flora and Ulysses will debut on Disney+ on February 19, 2021.
