Friends become deadly enemies in the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 6 trailer

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

In May of 2018, ABC announced that Marvel's AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. would indeed be returning for a sixth season. The 13-episode renewal took fans by surprise as many were lead to believe that the adventures of Agent Coulson and the gang had concluded during the show's devastating Season 5 finale. As it turns out, Gregg, who was expected to exit the series after the conclusion of Season 5, will be making his way back to the program for Season 6 – though not as the affable Agent Coulson we all know and adore.

If you watch the above trailer, you'll find that a mysterious Agent Coulson look-alike known as "Sarge" has taken the Captain America trading card lovin' freedom fighter's place. While we don't know much about this new character, the footage makes it quite obvious that "Sarge" does not f*ck around when it comes to tracking and killing his target. Obviously, it will be up to Daisy, Mack and the rest of the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. to keep "Sarge" from accomplishing his task, and it looks as if a lot of people are going to get hurt throughout the process. Furthermore, the new season is set one year after the events of Marvel's AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR, giving fans a look behind "the snap" and how it affected the MCU as we know it.

AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. will return, for what could be the last time, on May 10.
