Giant insects go metal in new trailer for horror-comedy Dead Ant

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

Well, the film DEAD ANT seems to merge things I love, such as metal, gore, and giant insects (and even sneaks in some TWIN PEAKS love with the appearance of Michael Horse). It is a bit of a disappoint that the giant insects are played mostly for laughs, but you gotta take what you can get at this point. Maybe with the resurgence of Godzilla and other giant monster film that we'll finally get a proper giant insect movie? I also wish the metal was a bit more of the death metal variety found in other metal-horror-comedies like DEATHGASM and TODD AND THE BOOK OF PURE EVIL, but this still looks fun. I'll definitely check it out!

Anyway, you can see the trailer for the horror-comedy above, and here' the official synopsis:

When the 1989 "one-hit-wonder" glam-metal band "Sonic Grave" embark on a trip to coachella in hopes of a comeback, their peyote trip pit stop in Joshua Tree incites an "unworldly" viscous attack, and they must "rock" themselves out of harms way.

Meanwhile, no official release date as of yet, but it will be screening at ScreamFest 2017 at the Chinese Theatre in Hollywood, which takes place October 10th-19th.
