R.L. Stine’s collection of spine-tingling stories from his children’s horror book series, Goosebumps, gets a revival and the new trailer has crept up on us. The new series is set to debut on Friday the 13th of October on Disney+ and Hulu as part of a simultaneously streaming holiday event, Hulu’s “Huluween” and Disney+’s “Hallowstream.” The 10-part series will drop with the first five episodes along with the subsequent episodes premiering weekly. In addition, the first two episodes of the series is scheduled to air on Freeform on October 13, as part of its “31 Nights of Halloween” programming.

The official synopsis from Disney reads,
“Inspired by R.L. Stine’s worldwide bestselling book series, Goosebumps follows a group of five high schoolers as they embark on a shadowy and twisted journey to investigate the tragic passing three decades earlier of a teen named Harold Biddle – while also unearthing dark secrets from their parents’ past.”

The new spooky incarnation stars Justin Long, recently seen in Barbarian and Rachael Harris, known for Lucifer, alongside the impeccably named Zack Morris, not of Saved by the Bell, but from EastEnders, Isa Briones, whom audiences may know from Star Trek: Picard, Miles McKenna, seen previously in Guilty Party, Ana Yi Puig, who you may recognize from Gossip Girl and Will Price, who can be seen in The Equalizer

Nicholas Stoller (The Muppets) and Rob Letterman (Pokémon Detective Pikachu) developed the series and serve as executive producers, alongside Hilary Winston (Community), Neal H. Moritz (Fast & Furious franchise), Scholastic Entertainment’s Iole Lucchese (Clifford the Big Red Dog), Pavun Shetty (The Boys), Conor Welch (Platonic), Scholastic Entertainment’s Caitlin Friedman (Stillwater), Erin O’Malley (New Girl) and Kevin Murphy (Desperate Housewives). James Eagan (DC’s Legends of Tomorrow) and Nick Adams (BoJack Horseman) serve as co-executive producers.

Previously, Ayo Davis of Disney addressed the new project in a statement, “R.L. Stine’s Goosebumps franchise is a pop culture phenomenon that holds a special place in the hearts of people of all ages. We are delighted to bring this spooky new series to audiences everywhere in a big way on Disney+ and Hulu, which we hope will not only captivate new audiences with its elevated thrills and chills, but also lifelong fans nostalgic for the stories that are a staple of their generation.“
