Great Scott! Josh Gad hosting Back to the Future reunion on Monday

Rev up your Deloreans and break out your hoverboards because a BACK TO THE FUTURE reunion with the cast is happening and it's all because of Josh Gad.

Gad shared the news via his official Instagram page with the caption "Oops. Accidentally marked up this picture featuring all of the surprise guests we've assembled for next Monday's #BackToTheFuture #ReunitedApart reunion in support of @projecthopeorg." The virtual reunion, which is set for Monday, May 11th at 9 AM PT/12:00 PM EST, isn't the first that Gad has organized. The actor recently brought the cast of THE GOONIES together for a virtual reunion which included actors Sean Astin, Jeff Cohen, Ke Huy Quan, Kerri Green, Corey Feldman, Martha Plimpton, Robert Davi, and Joe Pantoliano. Producer Steven Spielberg also hopped on that call along with writer Chris Columbus and director Richard Donner. Hell, they even threw in Cyndi Lauper, who wrote a song for the movie and was featured in a cameo role.

The cool thing about these reunions is that it all goes to a good cause. Much like Gad did with THE GOONIES reunion, it all goes to support Project Hope, which is a global nonprofit working to save lives around the world and deliver programs that improve people's lives. So who will be attending the reunion? The Instagram video features Lea Thompson, who played Marty McFly's (Michael J. Fox) mother in the film, but the other cast members aren't featured or mentioned. I'm assuming those who will be in attendance is being kept under wraps until Monday but given that Gad got all the major players for THE GOONIES to attend that reunion, I'm sure he'll get all of our favorites for this BACK TO THE FUTURE flashback as well. It may take a miracle for him to get Crispin Glover but stranger things have certainly happened in 2020.
