SLIME CITY MASSACRE will hit DVD on May 10th via Media Blasters’ Shriek Show label. The film, written and directed by Gregory Lamberson, is a sequel to his 1988 cult classic SLIME CITY. Here is the synopsis:
In the wake of a “dirty bomb” attack, a New York City neighborhood known as “Slime City” has been evacuated, except for the homeless. Four squatters searching for food in the ruins of the Zachary Devon Soup Kitchen discover a supply of Zachary Devon’s Home Brewed Elixir and Himalayan Yogurt. When they drink the elixir and eat the yogurt, they are transformed into hideous slime creatures driven to murder – an intermediate step as they are possessed by the spirits of Zachary Devon and the members of his Coven of Flesh, who committed suicide years earlier. When a greedy developer sets his sites on Slime City, he hires a team of mercenaries to wipe out the homeless population. It’s a battle royal between the Slime Heads…
Special features on the DVD will be as follows: audio commentary with Lamberson, Debbie Rochon, Jennifer Bihl and a couple of guests; “Slime City Survivor,” a feature-length documentary about the making of the film; “Scoring Slime,” a featurette about compose Mars; a deleted scene; additional behind-the-scenes footage; bloopers; a still gallery; and the trailer.
Lambert told Fangoria, “In these days of video-on-demand, it’s important to load DVDs with extras for the fans, and Media Blasters has gone above and beyond the call of duty. I’m particularly pleased that Madeleine [Koestner]’s ‘Slime City Survivor’ made it in, because I think it’s a genuine and entertaining look at how much hard work every one put into this. The deleted scene is a fun one with the four leads as they drink the elixir that turns them into slime and provides some background on Lee’s character; I cut it because the first kills came too late otherwise. I think the original script was dated May 2008, so it has pretty much taken three years from concept to release. I can’t wait for people to see it!”
The film stars Jennifer Bihl, Kealan Patrick Burke, Debbie Rochon (below), Lee Perkins, Robert Sabin, Roy Frumkes, Robert Sabin, Mary Bogle, Nelron Hubbard, Tommy Sweeney, T.J. Merrick, Eric Mache, Nicholas John Morgan Anderson and Lloyd Kaufman. The DVD will retail at $19.98.
