Last month, it was announced that Kel Mitchell is reteaming with his All That, Kenan & Kel, and Good Burger (not to mention Good Burger 2) co-star Kenan Thompson for an Abbott and Costello-esque horror comedy called Kenan & Kel Meet Frankenstein. While we wait to see how that project is going to turn out (it starts filming this summer), we’ve caught word that Mitchell has already wrapped work on a psychological thriller horror move called Heading East, which reunites him with another actor who was in All That, Kenan & Kel, and both Good Burgers, Josh Server.

Cast and Synopsis

Coming from Productions My Way and writer/director Raffaele Marchetta, Heading East is said to be “a gripping exploration of grief, identity, survival, faith and trauma.” Caitlyn Fletcher (Await the Dawn) takes on the role of a traumatized young woman named Katie, who is on her cross country road trip back home. Along the way she is followed by a stalker and is forced to confront her past. What begins as a way to unwind and decompress, slowly unravels into a horrific nightmare in the middle of nowhere. Blending psychological tension, emotional drama & supernatural horror, the film builds toward a haunting climax that will keep audiences wanting more.

Fletcher, Mitchell, and Server are joined in the cast by Aida Turturro (The Sopranos), Bill Timoney (Let’s Scare Julie), Grayson Berry (The Stress Is Killing Me), Bob Senkewicz (Judy Goose), and Catherine Mary Stewart of the ’80s classics Night of the Comet, The Last Starfighter, and Weekend at Bernie’s. Sara Karloff, daughter of the legendary Boris Karloff, makes a cameo appearance.

As Marchetta said, “This film will reunite Nickelodeon stars Kel Mitchell and Josh Server showcasing never before seen performances from the former All That alumni. As well as Aida Turturro stepping into new territory and Catherine Mary Stewart delivering the grounded
heartbeat throughout the film. The feature will also showcase Caitlyn Fletcher as well as veteran actors such as Bill Timoney, Grayson Berry, and Bob
Senkewicz.

Ricky Armellino of the bands Ice Nice Kills and Hawk is composing the score. Heading East is currently making its way through post-production.
