16mm horror sex comedy Tennessee Gothic now on VOD and Blu-ray

Writer Ray Russell, whose work brought us such horror films as MR. SARDONICUS, THE PREMATURE BURIAL, X: THE MAN WITH X-RAY EYES, and THE INCUBUS, passed away in 1999, but his short story American Gothic lives on in writer/director Jeff Wedding's recently released adaptation TENNESSEE GOTHIC.

A mixture of horror, a lot of sex, and comedy, TENNESSEE GOTHIC has the following synopsis:

When a dim-witted widower and his teenage son offer a beautiful young woman refuge on their farm, their living situation escalates from hysterical comedy to maddening horror once they discover she's not who she says she is.

William Ryan Watson, Jackie Kelly, Victor Hollingsworth, Wynn Reichert, Christine Poythress, Jason Christ, Jim Ousley, Chip Ramsey, and Harry Walker III star.

Produced by Katie Groshong, Wedding's film was actually shot on film – Kodak 16mm!

A slightly NSFW (like I said, there's a lot of sex) trailer is embedded above. If you like what you see, TENNESSEE GOTHIC can be rented or purchased on VOD through Vimeo, and a copy of the Blu-ray or DVD can be bought from Gypsy Root Productions.

This movie looks like fun to me, and the fact that it was shot on 16mm is a great added bonus.
