First clear pic of new Chucky from Child’s Play remake arrives online?

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

Director Lars Klevberg's (POLAROID) CHILD'S PLAY remake starring Aubrey Plaza as Andy's Mom, Brian Tyree Henry as Mike and Gabriel Bateman (LIGHTS OUT) as Andy is headed our way this summer and we still don't fully know just what the hell new Chucky is going to look like. But that may have changed this afternoon as we have what appears to be the first really clear shot of the new Buddi doll from the upcoming remake.

It comes to us via Movies on the Way over on Twitter and you can check it out below.

Personally, I think this pic might just be a better photoshop version of the original half-pic we've been seeing for months now. Sure people have already turned the pic on itself and come up with a clearer view, but those were always so amateur. Some are pretty good though. So is this a real true look at new Chucky, or just another photoshop job? In the end, I don't think it matters much as this is pretty much what the final doll will look like. I mean do any of us expect him to come with an eyepatch or something? I think not. But until we do get an official full-on look at new Chucky, this pic will do.

What do you think? Let us know below!

The upcoming remake's official synopsis reads:

A mother (Plaza) gives her son (Bateman) a toy doll for his birthday, unaware of its more sinister nature.

The remake is directed by Lars Klevberg (POLAROID) from a screenplay written by KUNG FURY 2 writer Tyler Burton Smith with STEPHEN KING'S IT producers David Katzenberg and Seth Grahame-Smith producing. Aaron Schmidt and Chris Ferguson executive produced. Beatrice Kitsos, Ty Consiglio, and Carlease Burke co-star. CHILD'S PLAY stalks and slashes its tiny terrifying ass into your local multiplex come June 21, 2019.
