Genre regular Sean Whalen reteams with Rob Zombie for 3 from Hell

The latest posts on Rob Zombie's social media accounts are celebrating the fact that yesterday marked the 15th anniversary of the musician/writer/director's first feature film, HOUSE OF 1000 CORPSES. I'll always remember the opening weekend of that movie, which was released years later than expected due to distributor issues. I was hyped for it and was listening to the soundtrack while making the 90 minute road trip to the nearest theatre showing it… a road trip that ended up being much longer than 90 minutes, thanks to a flat tire on a vehicle that wasn't equipped with a spare. I made it to the movie, though, and enjoyed it, with some reservations. I was a much bigger fan of its 2005 sequel, THE DEVIL'S REJECTS, which I consider to be Zombie's best movie by far.

Zombie is currently in production on a sequel to CORPSES and REJECTS, a film titled 3 FROM HELL. You might have noticed that from the fact that we've shared 3 FROM HELL casting news almost every weekday for the last month.

Today is no exception. Before making the HOUSE OF 1000 CORPSES celebration posts, Zombie also revealed the name of another 3 FROM HELL cast member: Sean Whalen.

Whalen has almost 130 acting credits to his name, and got his start in the horror genre with the third credit on his filmography, Wes Craven's 1991 film THE PEOPLE UNDER THE STAIRS, in which he played the character Roach. Since then, he has appeared in such horror films as IDLE HANDS, PYTHON, LAID TO REST, HATCHET III, THE AXE MURDERS OF VILLISCA (pictured above), and Zombie's HALLOWEEN II.

Also in the 3 FROM HELL cast are Austin Stoker, Dee Wallace, Emilio Rivera, Billy Blair, Jeff Daniel Phillips, David Ury, Tom Papa, Dot-Marie Jones, Pancho Moler, Richard Edson, Richard Riehle, Kevin Jackson, Steven Michael Quezada, and Clint Howard (as a clown called Mr. Baggy Britches), with Danny Trejo and Daniel Roebuck reprising their roles from THE DEVIL'S REJECTS, and Bill Moseley, Sid Haig, and Sheri Moon Zombie back as CORPSES and REJECTS characters Otis, Captain Spaulding, and Baby. Bill Oberst Jr. and Sylvia Jefferies might also be in there as characters named Tony Commando and Heather Starship Galen.

Zombie still hasn't offered up any 3 FROM HELL plot details.
