IT miniseries retrospective Pennywise: The Story of IT trailer!

Last year we let you guys know that there is an all-new retrospective documentary on the way based on Tommy Lee Wallace's 1990 ABC miniseries adaptation of Stephen King's IT. And today we have the extended 6-minute trailer for PENNYWISE: THE STORY OF IT. This fan-funded documentary from director Chris Griffiths is an ode to Tim Curry’s Pennywise the dancing clown, with more than 50 interviews and 700 never-before-seen photos from the 1990 miniseries. Its goal is to tell a story “heard by few and showcase a wealth of behind-the-scenes footage and photos seen by even fewer.”

Here's the synopsis for Pennywise: The Story of IT 

From Dead Mouse Productions Ltd and Cult Screenings UK Ltd, makers of Leviathan: The Story of Hellraiser and Hellbound: Hellraiser II, You're so cool, Brewster! The Story of Fright Night and RoboDoc: The Creation of RoboCop and John Campopiano, director/writer of Unearthed and Untold: The Path to Pet Sematary comes this brand-new documentary Pennywise: The Story of IT. A fully independent retrospective into the making of Stephen King’s IT and its cultural impact over the last 28 years. Supported by dozens of the original cast and crew including Tim Curry, Tommy Lee Wallace, and Bart Mixon Pennywise is made by fans of the IT for fans of IT. The crew have received support from over the cast and crew, including acquiring hours of never-before-seen set footage from SFX wizard Bart Mixon, as well as loads of archival and behind-the-scenes photos. The documentary is made as a labor of love by a team of IT fans.

PENNYWISE: THE STORY OF IT is written & produced by John Campopiano and Gary Smart. While there isn't an official release date yet, I did speak to Campopiano personally and he told me the Blu-ray will be available for pre-order at some point later this year.
