Horror anthology V/H/S picked up by Magnolia at Sundance

I guess that fainting stunt worked!

A couple of days after some audience members allegedly fainted and/or fell ill during its screening (I’m always a little dubious when it comes to that sort of thing), the horror anthology V/H/S has been acquired by Magnolia Pictures. The deal was reportedly in the neighborhood of $1 million.

As is standard procedure with Magnolia (and most indie distributors nowadays), the film will be given a pre-theatrical video-on-demand release before receiving a release in theaters after the 30-day VOD window. No dates have been announced.

Adam Wingard, Glenn McQuaid, Radio Silence, David Bruckner, Joe Swanberg and Ti West all directed segments of V/H/S, which is about a group of petty criminals who discover a treasure trove of freaky videos within the house they’re burglarizing.

When we get some release dates, we’ll pass them along.
