IFC Midnight to put out Slamdance hit Let’s Be Evil in the U.S.

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

L.A. SLASHER director Martin Owen's newest flick LET'S BE EVIL, which premiered this January at Slamdance, has just been picked up by IFC Midnight, who will distribute it in the U.S.

Says an IFC representative: “Martin Owen has crafted a truly original film that seamlessly blends elements of a classic thriller with innovative direction and style. We are thrilled to be bringing this fascinating movie to US audiences.”

I haven't seen much material from LET'S BE EVIL, but so far the low budget thriller looks like a mini-Refn film, and that definitely can't be too bad.

In LET'S BE EVIL:

Three chaperones are hired to supervise an advanced learning program for gifted children, who wear Augmented Reality Glasses to assist in their education. Contained within a secure, underground facility, events quickly spiral out of control.

LET'S BE EVIL stars Elizabeth Morris (L.A. SLASHER), Elliot James Langridge (Hollyoaks), Kara Tointon (EastEnders), and Isabelle Allen (LES MISÉRABLES) and was produced by Jonathan Willis. The script was written by Martin Owen from a story by Elizabeth Morris and Owen, based on an original idea by Jonathan Willis. It's like a nesting doll set of credits!

You can check out the poster below, which is actually a pretty fun parody of the LES MISÉRABLES poster, which also features young star Isabelle Allen. (You can see the LES MIS poster below to compare.)
