THE AMERICAN SCREAM, the latest documentary from BEST WORST MOVIE director Michael Paul Stephenson, is a behind-the-scenes look at the intricate world of homemade haunted houses. Focusing on a handful of Halloween enthusiasts who transform their abodes into elaborate trick-r-treat destinations, the film recently premiered at Fantastic Fest and will be making its television debut in just about a month.

Today we have a new poster for THE AMERICAN SCREAM, from artist Johny Sampson. A rather wonderful collage of images, wouldn’t you say? Click on the one-sheet to see it bigger.

Every Halloween, sleepy Fairhaven, Massachusetts erupts with the most
ambitiously creative spookery in the world. Endless styrofoam tombstones
and backyard beasts come courtesy of a few supremely dedicated local “home
haunters” who’ve devoted their lives to the art of handmade monster-making.
THE AMERICAN SCREAM follows three of these horrific households to uncover
the triumphs and tragedies that come with carrying the blackened banner of true Halloween spirit.

I’m personally psyched for this one, but then again, I love almost everything that tips its hat to my favorite holiday!

THE AMERICAN SCREAM will premiere on the Chiller Network Sunday, October 28.
