Robert Rodriguez wants to remake animated flick Fire & Ice after Sin City 2

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

Robert Rodriguez is an extremely busy man. It’s been that way since I can remember. Between writing, directing and producing the man doesn’t seem to stop. And thankfully it doesn’t look like he’ll be stopping anytime soon!

We already know Rodriguez has MACHETE KILLS and SIN CITY: A DAME TO KILL FOR on the way, but what about after that? Well according to The Hollywood Reporter’s Heat Vision blog the filmmaker will then be tackling a remake of the 1983 animated flick FIRE & ICE. Rodriguez actually announced his plans to remake Frank Frazetta and Ralph Bakshi’s classic flick at last year’s Comic-Con. It seems things are just now starting to come together for this one. Don’t take my word for it though. Check it out from Rodriguez himself:

“That’s in the works to go right into after Sin City, Frank Frazetta’s Fire and Ice. We’re almost done with the script; we’ve got it pretty much 70 percent there. I’m really excited about that one.”

“I think the timing is going to work out just right, and we’ll have a finished script in the next month or so. So we can start lengthier preproduction and we can go right into preproduction — well, we’re actually in preproduction, sort of, or we’ve been doing a lot of the previsualization. But that would be the next thing after Sin City.”

“The whole idea is to make it using the technology I used for Sin City because I want it to be as if you stepped into one of his paintings.”

“I’m really excited about that, For Frazetta fans, this will be the ultimate tribute to what he did, and inspired so many people. I think it’s going to be pretty powerful when people see it.”

Can’t beat that with a stick. I hope you guys are geared up to be hearing a lot about Mr. Rodriguez’s upcoming three projects because my gut is telling me we’ll be talking a lot about this shite for the next several months.
