Russell Brand attached to Platinum Dunes horror-comedy The Hauntrepreneur

THE HAUNTREPRENEUR, the horror-comedy being prepped by Paramount Pictures and Platinum Dunes we last wrote about in May of last year, has evidently found its leading man in the form of British nitwit Russell Brand (pictured), according to Variety.

THE HAUNTREPRENEUR
is about a family that has trouble adjusting to a new town and hires a peculiar man who calls himself the Hauntrepreneur to help them. In an attempt to bring them together, the man creates a haunted house filled with an odd cast of characters.

Screenplay was written by Scott Rosenberg, whose credits include THINGS TO DO IN DENVER WHEN YOU’RE DEAD, CON AIR and GONE IN SIXTY SECONDS.

This is Brand’s most recent attempt at haunting a horror-comedy. He was attached to RENT-A-GHOST briefly in late 2010, although Ben Stiller has since replaced him in the lead role.

No director has been picked to helm THE HAUNTREPRENEUR yet.
