Stephen King's It 1990 mini-series gets a planned feature retrospective

Over the past few years we've seen many behind-the-scenes retrospectives on classics horror flicks such as HELLRAISER, A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET, FRIDAY THE 13TH, FRIGHT NIGHT, SCREAM, and PET SEMATARY.

While that is all well and good, I have an intense love for Tommy Lee Wallace's 1990 mini-series adaptation of STEPHEN KING'S IT, and have found myself at a loss for real info on the making of the flick, save for an awesome commentary that accompanied the DVD release of the mini-series.

But that all might be changing soon...

I say "might" because, full disclosure here, the last bit of news we heard from the planned STEPHEN KING'S IT (1990) retrospective was back in December via Bloody Disgusting. Since then, all has been quiet on the possible flick's front.

Now I have personally reached out to Dead Mouse Productions (YOU'RE SO COOL, BREWSTER: THE STORY OF FRIGHT NIGHT), the production company behind the project, and I have not, as of yet, heard back from them. Now I hate to rush a movie, or pester the filmmakers, but maybe this post will get their attention and we'll be given some further insights into how the flick is progressing.

Again, the last we heard the film was in pre-production. Also, and this is VERY intriguing, BD reported that the film's director John Campopiano (UNEARTHED & UNTOLD: THE PATH TO PET SEMATARY) had "uncovered a wealth of never-before-seen photos from the production of the miniseries..."

Holy sh*t, I cannot wait to get my hands on those!

Anyway, I'm not asking you guys to start stalking and bothering the filmmakers on social media about the flick's current state, I'm only asking you guys to show your support for this post - hence the potential flick - and hopefully by sharing and retweeting, etc. we can gather some new news on the film.

If any of the filmmakers read this themselves, hit me up at [email protected] and let me know how the processes is going. On behalf of all STEPHEN KING'S IT fans, thanks for your time.

Here is a small collection of choice behind-the scenes pics from my own collection.

Extra Tidbit: STEPHEN KING'S IT stars Jonathan Brandis and John Ritter both died tragically in 2003.
