Stomp the Yard director to helm Slender Man project for ScreenGems

Slender Man Sylvain White

Creepypasta is taking over the media right now as the Internet takes more of a hold over the genre and the SyFy series Channel Zero is bringing the stories to eerie life. But the poster monster of the online horror movement is the Slender Man, a creepy forest-dwelling figure who preys on young children. He will be featured in the upcoming HBO doc BEWARE THE SLENDERMAN, but he'll also be leading an upcoming ScreenGems project titled SLENDER MAN, which has just nailed down a director.

STOMP THE YARD and THE LOSERS director Sylvain White will be taking the reigns of the project. This will be the director's re-entry into the horror genre after helming the forgotten sequel I'LL ALWAYS KNOW WHAT YOU DID LAST SUMMER.

So far, no plot details have been released. The script was written by David Birke (GACY).

SLENDER MAN is being produced by Mythology's Bradley Fischer, James Vanderbilt, and William Sherak alongside Madhouse’s Robyn Meisinger and No Dream’s Sarah Snow. The executive producers are Tracey Nyberg, Louis Sallerson, Adam Kolbrenner and Ryan Cunningham.
