The Bleeding Joystick is a bi-weekly column that rounds up the more stand-out GENRE VIDEO GAME news that is out there!

RE 6 Trailer!

I hate to keep mentioning Resident Evil 6 in every column I write, but the damn game produces so much news, and this stuff is significant. RE 6 has a new gameplay trailer- that’s a pretty big deal. Anyway, this one features our heroes Leon Kennedy and Chris Redfield as they team up with new characters who move through the world taking down a new zombie threat.

Enough yapping- check out the trailer below.

Supernatural Sims?

Are you a Sims fan? Chances are, you’ve likely played one of those damn games at some point, seeing as how they’ve been released for the last decade or so. I used to friggin’ love them, but didn’t get much into the Sims 3. That said, something is coming that may pique your interest.

EA recently announced that in September we’re going to be treated to a Supernatural expansion pack. This isn’t characters from that show people seem to dig, but instead a generally spooky pack that promises to shake up the Sims’ world as we know it. It incorporates the ability to :”Curse or charm your Sims’ lives with powerful spells, volatile elixirs and magical abilities in a world of strange happenings, spooky surprises and even the occasional zombie attack. “

September promises to bring us a whole “darker side” of the Sims, and will bring players the ability to create werewolves, fairies, witches and other creatures and wreak havoc.

I’m interested, bring it on.

More Amnesia!

I don’t have much meat for this news bit, but it’s arguably the most exciting thing I’ve posted yet. A sequel to Amnesia: The Dark Descent, one of the scariest video games I’ve ever played is coming. It’s called Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs, and a trailer has just been released.

Very few details can be gleaned from the trailer, but we know you play as Oswald Mandus, a wealthy industrialist. The game takes place in 1899, and Ozzie dreams of an infernal machine that may be directly related to the horrible dreams he’s having.

Check out this trailer and keep your eyes open for this game. I’ll be buying it on day one.

The Resistance Will (No Longer) Be Videogamed

In some crappy news, it looks like we likely won’t see any more Resistance games for our favorite Sony systems anytime soon. When recently asked, SCEA’s Daniel Brooke said there are “no definitive plans” to continue with the franchise, which is disappointing. This comes shortly after developer Insomniac games flat out told people that they wouldn’t make any more Resistance games.

This is a really shame, as the games have been mostly fantastic, save for the poorly received PS Vita title that came out late last month. If you haven’t played any of them, I highly recommend the trilogy, especially the third (and perhaps final) title. They’re highly stylized and polished experiences that pack a ton of alien blasting action.

Far Cry 3 Delayed

In some more disappointing news, Far Cry 3 has been delayed. This new entry into the FPS genre was originally set to debut in September, but got bumped to December 4th for those of us here in North America and a bit earlier for those in the UK, November 29th.

The only reason given by producer Dan Hay is that the development team is simply trying to use the time to “create the best possible gameplay experience.”

This is slightly upsetting, but if the game is better for it then so be it. I’ve always enjoyed the Far Cry games, here’s hoping we have a quality product coming soon.

Until next time kids, remember..Wolfman’s got nards!
