Well folks it’s no secret this week is the annual American Film Market and as we know loads of genre news usually spill out of the event. Hell we’ve been nailing you with update after update regarding AFM news and we’re not going to stop anytime soon!
You see according to Screen Daily not only has the Wild Bunch scored sales rights to the genre flick THE SQUAD but they’ve also scored themselves rights to Mary Harron’s THE MOTH DIARIES! Two for the price of one, natch! Now that’s basically all the news we have for you regarding the pick-up but allow me to school you all with the details on both films.
THE SQUAD is coming at us from director Jaime Osorio Marquez and stars Juan Pablo Barragan, Nelson Camayo, Alexandra Aguilar, Andres Torres and Andres Castaneda. Not much is known regarding the film’s plot but we do know it’s about some paranormal happenings at a desolate military base.
As for Mary Harron’s THE MOTH DIARIES, well that one stars a more impressive cast that includes Lily Cole (below), Sarah Bolger, Scott Speedman, Sarah Gadon, Valerie Tian, Judy Parfitt and Melissa Farman. Scope out the rundown: A teenage girl at a boarding girl suspects her roommate is a vampire.
