The Walking Dead companion series casts Cliff Curtis as male lead

Days after casting two supporting roles, “The Walking Dead” companion series, rumored to be going under the title, “The Walking Dead: Cobalt“, has found its male lead: Cliff Curtis.

In the show, Curtis will be playing “a divorced teacher, a good man who tries to do right by everyone in his life.” The actor joins Frank Dillane and Alycia Debnam Carey.

Curtis has a wide variety of films on his resume, including TRAINING DAY, COLLATERAL DAMAGE, LIVE FREE OR DIE HARD and THE FOUNTAIN. He’s of New Zealand Maori descent and made his feature film debut in 1993’s THE PIANO.

“The Walking Dead” companion series was created by Robert Kirkman and Dave Erickson. Adam Davidson is directing the pilot, which figures to air sometime in 2015.
