It Andy Muschietti

Hype levels are running high for Andy Muschietti's adaptation of the classic Stephen King novel IT, with the film looking to be on track to earn more than $50 million at the box office on its opening weekend. I'm not feeling much of the hype myself – having read the book and watched the 1990 IT mini-series multiple times, I'm pretty content with the amount of IT I've already consumed – but it would be great to see a horror movie doing so well.

Part of the marketing for the new film is The IT Experience, a haunted house attraction that stands at the corner of Hollywood Boulevard and Vine Street in Hollywood, California. Presented as being the Neibolt House from the story, the attraction is

open to the public daily August 14th – September 10th from 11am-11pm. Admission is free. Those who are 18 and over are welcome (at their own risk) to step inside the two story replica of 'where IT lives'. Guests will be guided by "Georgie" through the 5,000 sq. foot house and will venture room by room through immersive film inspired scenes complete with authentic set props. "Losers Club" groups of 7 will journey through the experience encountering pneumatic surprises, live actors, animatronic beings, and state of the art lighting, audio, and video.

If you can't make it out to Hollywood to journey through the house yourself, you can get a glimpse of what it's like by watching the video below. The video starts by showing the construction of the house, then the camera roams through the interior while satisfied customers give testimonials… On second thought, if you really wish you could walk through the Neibolt House, you might not want to see this video because it might be too much of a tease.

Muschietti's take on IT stars Bill Skarsgard, Jaeden Lieberher, Finn Wolfhard, Sophia Lillis, Jack Dylan Grazer, Wyatt Oleff, Chosen Jacobs, Jeremy Ray Taylor, Owen Teague, Nicholas Hamilton, Tatum Lee, and Javier Botet. IT is set to reach theatres on September 8th.
