Wanna know why Jane Levy is terrified in this new The Evil Dead pic?

Minor spoilers ahead...

Jane Levy. She's beautiful, she's talented, and, in the new still below, she's scared out of her goddamn mind. But of what? Chainsaw wielding Deadites? A giant, crab apple faced monster? Henrietta? A disembodied hand?

No, no, I wish, and no. In a comment accompanying the pic, THE EVIL DEAD director Fede Alvarez revealed "That's Mia [Levy's character] seconds before loosing her tree rape virginity." Yup, the pic is a prelude to a tree sexual assault. We saw a bit of it in the redband trailer and remember Ellen Sandweiss getting it in the original. The scene is somewhat tasteless and extreme, but the fact that it's being kept in the remake shows the level of fidelity Alvarez is paying to the original. I think it's a good sign the film is on the right track, anyway.

Check out the harrowing still, along with synopsis, below and look for Levy, Shiloh Fernandez, Lou Taylor Pucci, Elizabeth Blackmore and Jessica Lucas to face the ultimate experience in grueling terror April 12th.

Extra Tidbit: Listen, Sam Raimi, if you're reading this you should know we all still want an Evil Dead 4. There's no reason a remake and 4th Ash-oriented entry can't co-exist together peacefully. Make it happen...
