Once again, we step into The Further. In INSIDIOUS: CHAPTER 3, where we find out how exactly series favorite Elise Rainier (once again played by Lin Shaye) began her haunting career with Tucker (Angus Sampson) and Specs (Leigh Whannell). In this chapter, series writer and star Whannell begins a new story with a new family terrorized by a very scary demonic force.
Recently, we sat down with Mr. Whannell and Ms. Shaye to discuss this third chapter. Leigh talked about going in a darker direction, and how exactly he decided to take Elise where he does. Ms. Shaye is terrific in the new film and it was fun to see her have the opportunity to have a much more dramatic storyline. Thankfully, the actress had some serious support from a brand new family that needs her supernatural assistance.
Also at the press junket for the new film, we sat down with some of the new innocents haunted by an evil presence. The very talented Dermot Mulroney stars as Quinn’s father, with young Stefanie Scott as the frightened young girl. Both actors give strong performances, and it is especially nice to see my man Dermot in a genre flick. Are you ready for a third time into The Further? INSIDIOUS: CHAPTER 3 will be haunting theatre’s this Thursday.
