It: Chapter Two Andy Muschietti James McAvoy Jessica Chastain Bill Hader Isaiah Mustafa Jay Ryan

We're just over a month away from the day when the second half of director Andy Muschietti's adaptation of the classic, epic Stephen King novel IT will be reaching theatres, and today is a big day for IT: CHAPTER TWO news. Not only have a couple new posters for the film arrived online, but it has also been announced that there are going to be special clowns only screenings of the movie. (As there were for the first IT.)

Below you can see an IT: CHAPTER TWO poster that is exclusive to IMAX theatres. The folks at IMAX say that

if they are bold enough to dare, IMAX theatres are the ideal way for fans to experience the horror film of the year.  The combination of IMAX immersive sound, the clearest images, brighter colors and the largest screens – IMAX is the ultimate haunted house.

Below that is another poster, and that one is exclusive to Dolby Cinemas.

The clowns only screenings I mentioned will be taking place at Alamo Drafthouse cinemas.

In celebration of Stephen King’s magnum opus, Alamo Drafthouse announces its nightmare-fueled clown-only screenings of IT: CHAPTER TWO in 17 theater locations. The massively popular sold out screenings for the first film took place in just two theaters in 2017, and the theater chain is excited to expand this freakshow across the nation for the highly anticipated sequel. Moviegoers are encouraged to come dressed as a clown – the wig, the makeup, the oversized pants and suspenders, the blood-curdling makeup – and sit through this coulrophobia-inducing fright fest with a theater full of fellow… clowns.

These screenings will be taking place at the following theatres:

IT: CHAPTER TWO was written by Gary Dauberman and stars James McAvoy, Jessica Chastain, Bill Hader, Isaiah Mustafa, Jay Ryan, James Ransone, and Andy Bean as the adult versions of the Losers Club. Jaeden Martell, Wyatt Oleff, Sophia Lillis, Finn Wolfhard, Jeremy Ray Taylor, Chosen Jacobs, and Jack Dylan Grazer are back as the child versions of the characters. Bill Skarsgård is also back as the evil clown Pennywise.

The synopsis:

It's been 27 years since the Losers' Club had their traumatizing clash with the inhuman, child-eating clown from Derry, Maine – and they've since grown apart. But battling an unspeakable circus evil tends to bond people together, and they find themselves reunited in their hometown, unearthing a sinister history that threatens both their lives and their sanity.

Barbara Muschietti produced IT: CHAPTER TWO with Dan Lin and Roy Lee. Marty Ewing, Seth Grahame-Smith, and David Katzenberg serve as executive producers. The film will be reaching theatres on September 6th.
