Jurassic World director Colin Trevorrow recently made headlines when he said Jurassic Park should have probably never become a franchise. Indeed, many consider Steven Spielberg’s 1993 masterpiece a seminal and singular work. Still, it was such a smash that no one could resist turning it into a franchise, including Spielberg himself, who kicked things off with The Lost World: Jurassic Park. The third film, Jurassic Park III, was a critical failure. However, Jurassic World was a huge hit, like the sequel Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom and the trilogy-capper Jurassic World: Dominion. This episode of WTF You Need to Know About This Franchise is written, narrated, and edited by Kier Gomes, and produced by Tyler Nichols.
