Worlds continue to collide as Lucasfilm's animated characters transition to the live action world of THE MANDALORIAN. On the heels of rumors that Clone Wars character Ahsoka Tano would debut in live action portrayed by Rosario Dawson, a recent addition to the final season of The Clone Wars will also make an appearance on the Jon Favreau created series.

BATTLESTAR GALACTICA veteran Katee Sackhoff will portray Bo Katan Kryze, a Mandalorian warrior who was integral to the final episodes of The Clone Wars that premiered over the last month. While Rosario Dawson has been elusive regarding her casting, this Sackhoff reveal appears to be locked in. The Clone Wars was created by Dave Filoni, who has been directly involved with THE MANDALORIAN, having written and directed episodes in the hit series' freshman run. Previously, Sackhoff voiced the Bo-Katan character  for Filoni's animated series Star Wars: The Clone Wars and later Star Wars Rebels.

According to Slash Film, who exclusively broke the story related to Sackhoff's casting for THE MANDALORIAN, the actress filmed her contribution to the sophomore season back in February, before Hollywood had ordered production shut downs due to the coronavirus crisis.

As for the Bo-Katan Kryze character, the Mandalorian warrior first appeared in Season 4 of Star Wars: The Clone Wars. As a lieutenant in the radical splinter group Death Watch, Bo-Katan, she is second-in-command to the group’s leader, Pre Vizsla. In time, Bo-Katan came to be the wield the Darksaber, a weapon that now belongs to the villain Moff Gideon.

News of Sackhoff joining the cast of THE MANDALORIAN is bound to excite fans from all corners of the known galaxy, especially those who've followed her career as an icon of the science-fiction entertainment genre. Maybe, just maybe, we'll get to see Sackhoff's Bo-Katan and Gina Carano's Cara Dune throw down in the midst of some Mandalorian shenanigans. Wouldn't that be something?
