Kevin Hart’s Snowball gets super in The Secret Life of Pets 2 teaser trailer

Universal Pictures and Illumination Entertainment have unveiled a new character teaser trailer for THE SECRET LIFE OF PETS 2. This time around, the studio that introduced your children to the Minions (you're welcome, by the way) are focusing on Kevin Hart's adorable Snowball character, who arrives in the footage dressed as his own superhero complete with imaginary Spider-Man-like powers. The teaser hits all the right notes in terms of reminding fans of the franchise's delightful premise, in addition to delivering new laughs as well as a restored sense of adventure for the upcoming sequel.

Returning to the director's chair for THE SECRET LIFE OF PETS 2 is Chris Renaud (DESPICABLE ME, THE LORAX), who helmed the 2016 original animation alongside co-director Yarrow Cheney. Also set to explore Illumination's private lives of pets, once again, is franchise screenwriter Brian Lynch (MINIONS, PUSS IN BOOTS). The upcoming sequel stars THE SECRET LIVES OF PETS original cast members Jenny Slate, Eric Stonestreet, Ellie Kemper, Lake Bell, Dana Carvey, Hannibal Burress, and Bobby Moynihan, each returning for another fun-filled romp of derring do, hilarious action, and more toe beans than a hundred pet stores. Set to join the aforementioned stars for the sequel are newcomers Tiffany Haddish, Pete Homes, Nick Kroll, and … Harrison Ford?

You can check out the official synopsis for THE SECRET LIFE OF PETS 2 below:

The Secret Life of Pets 2 will follow summer 2016’s blockbuster about the lives our pets lead after we leave for work or school each day. Illumination founder and CEO Chris Meledandri and his longtime collaborator Janet Healy will produce the sequel to the comedy that had the best opening ever for an original film, animated or otherwise. The Secret Life of Pets 2 will see the return of writer Brian Lynch (Minions) and once again be directed by Chris Renaud (Despicable Me series, Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax).

THE SECRET LIFE OF PETS 2 will make its theatrical debut on June 7, 2019. In the meantime, be on the lookout for new character teaser trailers, which are expected to arrive on a monthly basis.
