Knives Out, Rian Johnson, trailer

A teaser for LOOPER director Rian Johnson's KNIVES OUT is taking a stab at the promotional game this Monday afternoon by way of a new teaser debut, with plans to release a full trailer tomorrow. Framed as "A Rian Johnson Whodunit," the filmmaker that scores of Star Wars fans love to hate has set an A-list cast for the mysterious project, with stars Daniel Craig, Chris Evans, Ana de Armas, Jamie Lee Curtis, Toni Collette, Don Johnson, Michael Shannon, Katherine Langford, Lakeith Stanfield, Jaeden Martell, and Christopher Plummer all ready to sharpen their skills for the film.

You can check out today's teaser for the upcoming murder mystery below:

Provided that the above teaser isn't designed to lead us astray, I would guess that Plummer's character is stationed at the heart of the matter, perhaps as a patriarch or some such. That being said, there's also the wax seal that drips like blood at the start of the tease. Obviously, this imagery is rather ominous, and has me thinking that maybe Plummer's character gets whacked early in the film's story. Here's the thing though, whodunits are always full of surprises, so it could be that Plummer is indeed the one pulling the strings. Honestly, I'm just grasping at straws here, but watching CLUE upward of fifty times has taught me much about the art of deception in cinema.

Hopefully, tomorrow's trailer for KNIVES OUT will provide us with more insight as to who could be responsible for the crime, though for now we'll just have to remain vigilant and watch out backs.
