SAW: LEGACY, the eighth entry in the SAW franchise, successfully made it through production without its shroud of secrecy slipping off much at all, but with its release date still nine months away Lionsgate has decided to throw fans a bone and confirm the involvement of two of the film's cast members.

Those cast members are Laura Vandervoort (pictured above), whose credits include the V revival, Smallville, Bitten, and Supergirl, and Hannah Anderson (pictured below), who appeared in the TV movie LIZZIE BORDEN TOOK AN AX.

Of course, no details were revealed about Vandervoort and Anderson's characters, but it's good to have some information about the new SAW sequel.

SAW: LEGACY has been directed by Michael and Peter Spierig (UNDEAD, DAYBREAKERS, PREDESTINATION) from a screenplay by PIRANHA 3D / SORORITY ROW writers Josh Stolberg and Pete Goldfinger.

SAW was created by Leigh Whannell and James Wan. Mark Burg, Gregg Hoffman, and Oren Koules, producers of the previous seven films, returned to produce LEGACY.

SAW: LEGACY will be released on October 27, 2017.
