Len Wiseman shares a BTS video from DC Universe’s Swamp Thing

Deep in the swamplands of North Carolina, UNDERWORLD: EVOLUTION and TOTAL RECALL director Len Wiseman is busy crafting something dark and sinister for DC Universe, the superhero-centric streamer and one-stop-shop for all your DC Comics-related desires. Earlier today, Wiseman posted a video to his personal Instagram account, giving those looking forward to the filmmaker's live-action SWAMP THING series a taste of what's to come. The video is accompanied by some sweet Italian tunes, which really had me hoping to spot Swampy paddling along the murky waters via a ramshackle gondola.

The new video comes shortly after Wiseman posted a photo of Crystal Reed (Abby Arcane) and Andy Bean (Alec Holland) preparing to shoot a scene which evidently takes place in a morgue. Perhaps when finished, this scene will provide a look into Abby's ability to commune with The Red, a force which connects all animal life and microroganisms in the DC universe. Those who can tap into The Red are given access to extraordinary abilities, including dominion over creatures that have been poisoned by malevolent forces of nature. Imagine being able to control undead monstrocities, using them like puppets for your own dark and deadly ends.

Recently, a leaked document suggested that SWAMP THING – which is being executively produced by Wiseman – will arrive exclusively on DC Universe on May 10, 2019. The show will join a series of planned live-action offerings from DC, which include the highly acclaimed TITANS, as well as the upcoming adaptation of DOOM PATROL.
