M. Night Shyamalan to present a psychological thriller TV series for Apple

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

Apple has secured a new psychological thriller TV series from Mr. Plot Twist himself, M. Night Shyamalan, and British TV writer Tony Basgallop. The yet-to-be-titled, straight-to-series project from the filmmaker who gave us movies like THE SIXTH SENSE, LADY IN THE WATER, and SPLIT will consist of 10 half-hour-long episodes that have every intention of chilling viewers to the bone.

Basgallop, who will write and executive produce the series, will partner with Shyamalan for the project, who is also set to executive produce in addition to directing the first episode of the series.

No plot details surrounding the show are known at this time. Meanwhile, THE LAST AIRBENDER helmer is busy placing the finishing touches on GLASS, the third movie from Shyamalan that features David Dunn, a security guard with super human strength as portrayed by Bruce Willis in both UNBREAKABLE and SPLIT. Scheduled for a January 18, 2019 release, GLASS finds Dunn using his abilities to track Kevin Wendell Crumb (James McAvoy), a man who wrestles with keeping the 23 personalities that exist within him at bay. Samuel L. Jackson will also appear in the film as his Elijah Price aka Mr. Glass character from UNBREAKABLE fame.
