Marvel still has two unannounced movies it plans to make in the next few years

Marvel character triangle

Now that Marvel has tied up its first round of films with THE AVENGERS, the second round is set to begin soon in advance of the already announced sequel.  But buried in the scheduling recap recently given by Kevin Feige is a sliver of something new, something that will give the more comic book-savvy amongst you no peace considering the multitude of possiblities it might imply.

“We want to do two films a year. Avengers is our only film this year, but in a week and a half we begin filming Iron Man 3,” said Feige.  “By the end of the summer we’ll be working on the next Thor film, early next year the next Captain America film. Those are the three we’ve announced so far; we’ve got two beyond that that we haven’t announced yet, but we’re working on.”

Is it the recently teased ANT-MAN (though I don’t know how Edgar Wright’s schedule will allow for it now)? The long-in-development DOCTOR STRANGE movie? The GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY project once hinted about? Or maybe the real question is: does “we haven’t announced yet” mean that the projects haven’t been announced formally, i.e. given the green light with a director and start date and all that, or does it mean that they haven’t been spoken about at all?

Let the speculation begin and proceed to run rampant.
