Milla Jovovich is in negotiations to join The Expendables 3 along with Snipes, Cage, and Chan!

Final negotiations are underway to ink the deals for Wesley Snipes, Nicolas Cage, and Jackie Chan to join THE EXPENDABLES 3, but there’s also a new suprise addition setting up to join their ranks; “Resident” badass Milla Jovovich. Stallone has confirmed Cage, Snipes, and Chan for a long time now, but this is the first we’ve heard of Jovovich’s involvment. On his Twitter account, Sly has talked about finding a “Sigourney Weaver” type for the film, and Jovovich has certainly got the action chops (and hotness) to bring to the table. You could say she’s an “aging” action star, I suppose, but at 37 she’s a spring chicken to the tired old dogs of THE EXPENDABLES.

I’m not a fan of the RESIDENT EVIL films at all, regarding them mostly as sillly schlock that is barely watchable, but the issue has never been with Jovovich, who is the only shining thing in the series. I’ve always felt she deserved something better, but at the same time thought it was cool that she embraced the franchise as much as she did.

Production on the sequel is set to begin in August with director Patrick Hughes (RED HILL) at the helm, eyeing a release sometime in 2014.
