Millar talks Wanted

One of the best graphic novels that I’ve read in
years was Mark Millar’s WANTED. The story follows a loser guy who
discovers that his dad, the world’s greatest assassin known as The Killer, dies
mysteriously and than the loser son must take on his fathers old job.

Now when I heard that this film was being brought
to the big screen I was worried that it may not be done right, but after today I
don’t fell like that anymore.

Today Millar posted a blog online

here
about the pre-production stuff that he
saw, and he’s absolutely gushing about it. Millar said: “I
can’t give much in the way of details here, but watching some of the scenes from
the book come to life can only be compared to giving birth to a 100 million
dollar baby. The opening sequence with The Killer plus boyfriends chasing his
would-be assassins across the rooftops is just jaw-dropping.”

This book is definitely not one for kids, and I
was worried about big wigs wanting to tone down the content to meet a wider
audience. However it seems like that might not be the case and WANTED
might be saved from producer tyranny. Filming for WANTED begins on March
8th with James McAvoy and Morgan Freeman starring.
