Crime bad! Frankenstein's monster to be a homicide detective in CBS pilot

Frankenstein, or rather, Frankenstein's monster, will soon be on the case and as he could be solving crimes in a potential TV series from CBS. Entertainment Weekly has reported that the network has ordered a drama pilot by the name of Frankenstein, which will be the latest in a long line of projects to be loosely based on Mary Shelley's classic novel.

According to EW, Frankenstein will follow a San Francisco homicide detective who is "mysteriously brought back to life after being killed in the line of duty. But as he resumes his old life and he and his wife realize he isn’t the same person he used to be, they zero in on the strange man behind his resurrection – Dr. Victor Frankenstein." Ruh oh. Jason Tracey of Burn Notice and Elementary is behind the pilot which will be in consideration for next season's primetime lineup. If the idea sounds familiar to you, well, you're not alone. There was a very short-lived Fox series called Second Chance (originally titled Frankenstein) back in 2016 which starred Rob Kazinsky (WARCRAFT) as a disgraced sheriff who was brought back to life in a new and improved body after being murdered.
