Dear White People trailer knows what Gremlins is really about

DEAR WHITE PEOPLE won writer-director Justin Simien Sundance’s Special Jury Prize for Breakthrough Talent and the first trailer is here. It’s a satirical look at modern-day race relations and calls itself "a sly, provocative satire of race relations in the age of Obama." I'm not quite sure what the age of Obama is, or if that's a thing at all, but I'm laughing.

Here is the synopsis:

The movie follows a group of African-American students attending a predominantly white Ivy League school where a riot breaks out over a popular 'African American' themed party thrown by white students.

Now check out the first trailer:

Judging from the trailer it looks like a great comedy; it’s a part tongue-in-cheek so I think that means that it’s ok for everyone to laugh while watching it right? My favorite line was "it's got 2-chainz in it", oh mercy that’s funny.

DEAR WHITE PEOPLE stars Tyler James Williams (“Everybody Hates Chris,” Peeples), Tessa Thompson (For Colored Girls, “Veronica Mars”), Teyonah Parris (“Mad Men,” They Came Together), Brandon P. Bell (“Hollywood Heights”), Kyle Gallner (A Nightmare on Elm Street, CBGB), Malcolm Barrett (The Hurt Locker), Brittany Curran (“Chicago Fire”), Marque Richardson (“The Newsroom”) and Dennis Haysbert (“24,” Far From Heaven).

The films Facebook page gives Ocotber 17th 2014 as a release date.
